Watching the Lehman minibonds sega unravel, I wonder what are all these people thinking...? If you don't understand something, why do you even buy it? It makes no logical sense to me at all! Do you go shopping for something because you know you need something or do you allow the salesman to push you around? Obviously if someone steps into a computer shop, he already has in mind that he needs a computer... not a fancy yatch!
How will ignorant people ever realise those working in banks are nothing but salespeople who knows NOTHING about what they are selling. They are just hired to keep the sales figure up, and they WON'T care about what happens to your life savings.
It's not called a STRUCTURED product for nothing! That's why the age old wisdom prevails. Do not buy something if you can't understand it.
So who is to blame now? The greed of those who are ignorant or the unethical ways of the sellers? BOTH.

When you choose to quest, it's like working a normal job. When recession hits, you are robbed of your job and your income. You are at your boss' mercy. You are at the mercy of others.
When you choose to duel people, you will have to rob others and watch out for your own interests. What do you do when people try to rob you then...? You retaliate! You pick yourself up and try again. For every success story, it means someone else has failed.
Then why would a person pick such a path...? Isn't a job good enough? When you utilise your creativity and abilities, you will create a safety net for yourself. Recession or retrenchment doesn't scare you anymore... it becomes part of a natural order. You take destiny into your own hands and you create them. Don't let other people push you around or tell you bullshit advice like it's better to have an iron rice bowl. Truth behold that there is no job security in our age. Those people are the ones who are cowardy, who don't try to set a challenge for themselves. They have been brainwashed, programmed to function like a mindless robot, served to slog for the rest of their lives.
When you choose to do something, money alone isn't a good enough motivating factor. Else why do so many people experience unsatisfaction with their jobs? Are they working so hard for all the wrong reasons? Just to sustain their their apetite for greed, to finance their luxurious lifestyle, their credit card debt, the next expensive holiday, the 40 inch LCD TV...? Emptiness! Meaningless! You don't work for money... you work for a purpose... you work towards a purpose. And having attain a purpose is far more satisfying than the material things money can offer.
Open up your eyes and look beyond the horizon.
