Retards

Wow business strategy game report is out and boy did I get the shock of my life when I saw the figures in the report.

It seems to be true that marketing people have no real substance in their heads.

All talk but can't manage a real life scenario.

Q&A

What is Business Strategy Game?
It's a game which all final year business students will have to play.
So in this game it's like an industry where everyone is selling footwear.

How do you play it?
A scenario will be provided, like a forecasted demand and the cost of producing shoes etc
and we will have to determine the price that we want to sell the shoes for, how much to produce, how to ship it, where to store it etc

How do you get your ranking of your company?
After every week, everyone's decision will be tabulated, and the computer will generate a result of how each company fared, their market share, sales volume and price of shares and ultimately their ranking as compared to other companies.

Why are you scolding us marketing people?
What went wrong was this, my stupid group leader, who thinks that she monopolises the market or something, went to put such a high price, and manufactured such a huge quantity, that our company is going bust from all the high costs and due to the fact that we had 0 (ZILCH) market share thx to her poor management skills.

Woah, what exactly did she do?
That dumbass went to put bidding price way over our competitors. Eg industry average price is $30, she went to put our selling price as $49.90. Hence, if she even passed her year 1 economics, demand and supply chapter 1, if you raise your price too high, nobody would buy, therefore there were no bids for our shoes. Not surprisingly, as a result, our market share for that segment, private label was 0. (Yes another big fat zilch) And hundreds and thousands of dollars were lost in manufacturing that category.

Huh, can't be that bad la!
And the most ridiculous thing that I've seen with my own eyes is this:

Branded shoes
North America pricing $41 (industry average $40)
Asia pricing $98 (industry average $40)

WTF? does she have even any common sense?

It's only pricing what, surely you can slash the price.
Rule 1: cannot increase/decrease prices by more than $5 each week
Rule 2: cannot have more than 6 million shares in the market

And the lecturer was asking her why the hell she went to place the price as $98 And her dumb explanation was this,"Oh america exchage rate is around $2 Singapore."

Of course the company made a huge loss.

Not to even mention, she MAXED out ALL ADVERTISING BUDGET as well as TOTAL NUMBER OF RETAIL STORES.

Oh, now I can see why you are so pissed with her...
Talk about managing costs and expenses, marketing people know crap about that.
Still retail students rock.

Thanks to her now I have to think of ways to save my company.
Worst is I can't even slash price now to save my company in the next coming week (due to the price restriction rule of +/- $5)

The only way that I can think of is....

Pondering,
